Background
MG-132 is a potent, cell permeable, and selective proteasome inhibitor (Ki = 4 nM), which inhibits NFkappaB activation by preventing IkappaB degradation (IC50 = 3 żM). In addition, it blocks degradation of shortlived proteins, which in turn induces HSP and ER chaperone expression, leading to thermotolerance.
