Inhibits tyrosine phosphorylation in isolated enzyme and receptor preparations and in whole cells (1-5) and cultured cells (6-9). In cultured A431 epidermoid carcinoma cells, EGF stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation was totally inhibited by genistein at 100 µg/mL (9). Inhibition is competitive with ATP and noncompetitive with substrate.
