This antibody detects a ~145-150kDa protein doublet, corresponding to the apparent molecular masses of phosphorylated c-Met on SDS-PAGE immunoblots. The antibody has been negatively preadsorbed using a non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the site of phosphorylation to remove antibody that is reactive with non-phosphorylated c-Met. Reactivity of this antibody is specific to the local phosphorylation-site sequence and there is no reactivity with non-phosphorylated c-Met. This antibody does not distinguish between the dually (pYpY1234/1235) and triply (pYpYpY1230/1234/1235) phosphorylated forms of c-Met, both of which are likely to represent activated forms of this receptor.
