Background
Genistein inhibits tyrosine phosphorylation in isolated enzyme, receptor preparations, and in whole cells and cultured cells. In cultured A431 epidermoid carcinoma cells, EGF stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation was totally inhibited by genistein at 100 żg/mL. Inhibition is competitive with ATP and noncompetitive with substrate.
