Background
DEDAF (death effector domain associated factor) is a 228 amino acid protein identical to the mouse RYBP protein. It acts as a general regulator of pro-apoptotic DED-containing proteins, including caspase-8, caspase-10, FADD, and DEDD, a nuclear DNA binding protein. DEDAF augments the formation of CD95/FADD/caspase-8 complexes at the cell membrane.
