NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase (NQO1) is a flavoprotein which catalyzes the two-electron reduction of quinones. NQO1 plays a role both in the detoxification of phenolic metabolites as well as the bioactivation of many anti-tumor quinones. Its activity can be elevated in human tumors, including colon, breast, lung, and brain carcinomas.
