Background
Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2 (Grb2), is a 24 kDa signaling adaptor protein that contains a central Src homology (SH)2 domain flanked by two SH3 domains. The SH2 domain on Grb2 associates with EGF receptor and PDGF receptor activated by tyrosine phosphorylation and other cellular tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins such as the insulin receptor substrate IRS-1.
